Latymer

Latymer usually refers to either one of two secondary schools in London, both founded in 1624 by the bequest of Edward Latymer, a City merchant.

  • The Latymer School is a selective co-educational state school in Edmonton, North London. It places an emphasis on academic achievement and extra-curricular activities, and is particularly known for its strong musical and sporting tradition and links with the local community.
  • Latymer Upper School is an independent school in Hammersmith, West London. In 2004 the school became co-educational throughout the Upper School (aged 11+), the Sixth Form having been co-educational for some time. It was originally a boys' school, and has been on its present site since 1894.
