Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

The Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is a Lutheran denomination, formed in 1957 as a federation, and reorganized in 1975 as a formal denomination. As of 1996, 16,900 congregants and 74 congregations of the church were present in the United States. It is headquartered in Golden Valley, Minnesota. Its president is the Rev. Uldis Cepure. Though there may be many lutheran churches in Minnesota, there are many in Wisconsin, other Midwest states, and other states across the United States.
