Latchford is a district in the unitary authority of Warrington, Cheshire, England.
It lies between the River Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal. The Canal is crossed here by a swing bridge, a high level road bridge and a high level railway bridge (now disused).
It is a residential district mainly consisting of 19th century terraced houses, although a number of new housing developments (most notably apartments) are currently being constructed in the area.
Between 1894 and 1974, part of Latchford lay within the administrative county of Lancashire, though with the local government reforms of 1974, it was reunited with Cheshire.
There is a park (Victoria Park) beside the Mersey, within which is a modern sports stadium and a skateboard park. The old Black Bear Canal (now infilled and used as a recreational path) used to create a shortcut for shipping to avoid a large river bend and weir, which ran from the docks on the River Mersey near Wilderspool Causeway at the west of Latchford to the Mersey at Manor Lock in Howley. Situated in Victoria Park is a large Georgian manor house, previously named the Old Warps(now flats), and near the house is an elegant narrow Victorian suspension bridge (Howley Bridge) giving pedestrian access from Howley to Latchford.
