[edit] Unusual game types

I've also written a section on unusual game types, i.e. those that are not programmed as default into most systems. They can be seen at User:SeventyThree/LQ-unusual. I'm not sure if they should go in the article or not.SeventyThree 21:10, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)

According to Google, Laser Quest is still available as Laser Quest in America. And when I used to play, the wireless connection to the central computer was all through the game, so it could tell you your position and who you hit during the (unsigned comment by 57.66.51.165, at 14:38, 7 October 2005. • I have no experience of LQ in america. Feel free to edit the article if you think it needs adding to.
  • The wireless connection to the central computer where I play is intermittent, so the scores are only updated if you wander past the 'airlock'. As such, they are quite unreliable.SeventyThree(Talk) 16:56, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Suggested Merge

I suggested that this page be merged with Laser Tag. They're both very similar (if the same) game. - Icecradle 20:10, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

Like I stated on the Lasertag talk page, LaserQuest is just one type of Laser Tag. They should stay as separate articles. ParticleMan 23:30, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

This article features a lot of information, that is specifically relevant to LaserQuest, but not applicable to all other tag systems. As it is I think that some of the stuff in the main Lasertag article is ambiguous. I think that all the tag systems should have a separate article, like this one, and that anything in the Lasertag article that definately only applies to one tag system should be moved to the article for that system. I am removeing the merge to laser tag, laserquest is a type of laser tag yes but it is unique in many ways --Kylehamilton 11:48, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Category change

This category should be 'Laser Quest' not 'LaserQuest'. The actual copyrighted term for this particular brand of laser tag uses a space between the two words. Xipheas.

[edit] A Few Changes

Some of the information such as game parameters and strategies do not apply to the center I attend in Massachusetts. I've made edits to reflect this:

-Added 15 minutes as a recommended game time for a normal game in addition to 20. (June 22, 2006)

-We use a 5 second down time, so I noted that as well. (June 22, 2006)

-The cancelling, as far as some of the employees of my center are concerned, is fiction. There is a small chance that it works with some centers, so I merely am attaching a note, rather than deleting it entirely. (June 22, 2006)

-Changed a small amount of terminology. (June 22, 2006)

-Split LaserQuest into two words, since that is the official company name, where necessary. (June 22, 2006)

-The intro to the "problems" section refers to "two of three" problems. This does not make a great deal of sense, so I changed it to "two or three." (June 22, 2006)

-I have also edited this discussion piece by adding the date(s) I made these edits. (June 22, 2006)

-Correction, I was a bit off. Hit cancellation does actually work. Fixed my mistake. (June 23, 2006)

what does nac mean??? can someone explain this to me??? please???!!!

Well, Anonymous person, NAC stands for North American Challenge, which is a competition where every North American LQ center sends a team to compete. -Bakodo

hey sorry about that, that was my gf, something about you not explaining that in the article. whatever 04:08, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] More Updates

Hey, I'm just an LQ Widow, not a NAC player, so I didn't make any significant changes to facts. I tried to clean up the style and writing a bit. I did have some trouble doing that with the game styles page; I'll have one of the former NAC blokes I know (probably the one I'm married to) go over it and make any needed changes there. I'm still leaving the note up, as I haven't been able to go over everything, and as I'm still relatively new to Wikipedia. Sanji DarkAsSin 20:13, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
