The video was filmed in Kansas City and directed by Richie Smyth. It features Sophie Dahl and the late William Burroughs in his final filmed performance. It was regularly performed during the Popmart Tour, and appeared on the video release PopMart: Live from Mexico City, however as of 2006 it has not been performed since.

"Last Night on Earth" was re-recorded for single release on July 15, 1997. The cover of the single is depicting The Edge in a position inspired by the famous painting "The Scream" by Norwegian painter Edvard Munch.
