Las Vueltas

Las Vueltas is a municipality in the Chalatenango department of El Salvador.
Las Vueltas was a very active city during the El Salvadoran civil war. Today, there are a few signs of the war including an shell of a US bomb hanging from a post in the park. There is also a memorial plaque naming some of the slain. part of the park was built with the help of some nice folks in Windsor Canada, while the new church had some americans from Seattle helping out.
There is about 150 families in Las Vueltas, and another 150 families in the outlying areas also pertaining to Las Vueltas. The villages that are in the boundries of Las Vueltas are (in order of size) La Ceiba, El Amatillo, Los Naranjoa, Conacaste, Sicajuite, and finally San Ramon la Laguna.
