Talk:Large Goods Vehicle
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The use of this term is now deprecated in the United Kingdom, in favour of LGV for Large Goods Vehicle. Suggest renaming the article? Sticki 18:03, 20 September 2005 (UTC)
- No. *Everybody* uses the term HGV, and I don't think that's likely to change. You could mention this in the article, though. PeteVerdon 01:13, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
Only problem is that Light Goods Vehicle (a vehicle not exceeding 3,500kgs gross weight) may also be shortened to LGV.
[edit] Tachograph
"All LGV's are required by law to be fitted with Tachograph equipment which records the driver's activity during driving"
No - not "all". Only ones that drive further than a 30 mile radius from their starting point or are used to draw trailers. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.155.110.198 (talk) 10:46, 27 February 2007 (UTC).
