Larry Mosley

Larry Dennis Mosley (born December 26, 1979 in Watts, CA) is a boxer in the Welterweight division.

Mosley is boxing champion Shane Mosley's cousin [1].

Mosley had an outstanding amateur career, and was the 1998 and 1999 United States Amateur Welterweight Champion.

Mosley's major amateur tournament results are as follows:

  • 1997 3rd Place as a Light Welterweight at United States Championships. Results were:
    • Defeated Bobby Jaramillo on points
    • Defeated Larry Nicholson on points
    • Lost to Anthony Hanshaw on points
  • 1998 Welterweight Silver Medalist at Goodwill Games in New York City. Results were:
    • Defeated Serguei Dzinziruk (Ukraine) on points
    • Defeated Roberto Guerra on points
    • Lost to Andrei Mishin (Russia) on points
  • 1998 United States Amateur Welterweight Champion. Results were:
    • Defeated Joshua Lavergene on points
    • Defeated Ed Hernandez on points
    • Defeated Miguel Espino on points
    • Defeated Johnny DeJesus on points
  • 1999 United States Amateur Welterweight Champion. Results were:

At the Olympic Box-Offs, Dante Craig would defeat Mosley twice, to earn the United States Olympic bid at Welterweight.

Mosley turned pro in 2000 and has had limited success. In his two high profile bouts, he has come up with draws, against Miguel Figueroa and Golden Johnson, both in 2006.
