Larry Hays

Larry Hays, born in Dora, New Mexico, is the current head coach of the Texas Tech Red Raider baseball team. As of March 1, 2006 he has 1425 career wins. This is the fourth highest mark for all active and inactive NCAA baseball coaches. In 2005, Hays became the fourth coach ever to gain 1400 wins.
Hays has been the coach at Texas Tech since 1987. In his time there, he has led the Red Raiders to three conference championships and nine NCAA tournament appearances, and has posted a winning season every year but one.
Prior to coaching at Texas Tech, Hays was the head coach of the Lubbock Christian University Chapparals. He led the Chaps to an NAIA national championship in 1983.
