Larry Anthony

Lawrence James "Larry" Anthony (born 17 December 1961), Australian politician, was a National Party of Australia member of the Australian House of Representatives representing the Division of Richmond, New South Wales, from March 1996 until his defeat in the parliamentary election of October 9, 2004. He held the seat that was previously held by his father, Doug Anthony, and his grandfather, Larry Anthony. The Anthonys are the only three-generation dynasty in the history of the House of Representatives.
Anthony was born in Sydney, New South Wales, and educated at Canberra Grammar School before attending university at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. He holds diplomas from the Financial Services Institute of Australia and Australian Institute of Company Directors. He was a businessman and stockbroker before entering politics.
He was Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Trade 1998-99, Minister for Community Services 1999-2001 and Minister for Children and Youth Affairs from 2001 to 2004.
Larry Anthony is now on the board of directors of ABC Learning the world's largest childcare operator, Macquarie Media Group, Queensland based financial institution InDue and leading edge technology company CertainEdge. Mr Anthony is also the Chairman for the Duke of Edinburgh's Awards for Australia.
