Laramie Formation

The Laramie Formation is a division of Upper Cretaceous rocks found in Colorado in the United States. More accurately described as Late Maastrichtian, these rocks contain the youngest of dinosaur genera, much like the Hell Creek Formation. The term was coined by paleontologist Kenneth Carpenter in 1979.

Dinosaurs found in these rocks include is a carnivore which is either Tyrannosaurus rex or something very similar, and herbivores including the ceratopsians Triceratops and Torosaurus, Edmontosaurus and Thescelosaurus.
