This article is about the game. For other uses, see Lapta.

Lapta (Russian: лапта) is a Russian ball game, similar to baseball. Lapta is played on a field of size 20 by 25 sazhens, or about 140 by 175 feet. The edges of the field are marked with parallel lines, and a third line is marked between the edges; these lines are called "salo", and they are like baseball's bases.
