Laonic Chalcocondil

Laonic Chalcocondil (14231490), was a Greek scholar and historian.

He was born in Athens. A contemporary of Mehmed II, Vlad III and Stephen the Great, he is chiefly notable for his work Historical Expressions, which analysed the military and political situation in the conflict between the Ottoman Empire and Wallachia, and the Ottoman Empire and the Byzantine Empire.
