[edit] WP:MilHist Assessment

A nice article of good length, with a full infobox and a good number of pictures. Pardon me for asking about this - if any of you are related to Capt Sijan, I apologize to criticize. But I feel I must question the notability of this subject - a lot of people fought and died in Vietnam. Does receiving a Medal of Honor make him notable? Also, where does this Medal of Honor picture come from? It doesn't look like a formal military portrait or the like... LordAmeth 17:23, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Many thousands fought, only 200 odd recieved the MoH. The man gave up rescue to save others, crawled around in the jungle with a broken leg and hand for more than a month, managed to escape twice and STILL didn't break under torture. I certainly think he deserves a page. The painting was up up by Tarfu92, who is a cadet or graduate of the Air Force Academy. Maybe it's the picture the AFA has up in the Sijan dorm? 192.34.239.166 20:27, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
