Langley School (Solihull)

Langley School is one of sixteen secondary schools situated in the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull in the UK. The school hosts over nine hundred students from the age of eleven to sixteen. With a special performing arts status, the school attracts children interested in drama, music and art. The school has recently been awarded a second specialism in Languages as well as a highly prestigious great 1 by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted), following an inspection in October 2006. They stated that Langley ‘is an outstanding school in which standards are high and improving annually because of the headteacher's clarity of vision, very high expectations and relentless pursuit of excellence.’
The school has a 75% pass rate (students leaving with five C-grade GCSEs or more), which is above the national average. This includes high grades in English and Mathematics.
The school is also home to the Dovehouse Theatre, one of the best known theatres in the area. Several activities and events take place at the theatre.
Langley School has a MySpace forum availble for all Langley School Alumni, for Teachers, Staff, Current and former Students. The Forums moderator is currently SDF (1996-2001). This forum is in no way associated formally with the school.
