Langhus is a village in the municipality of Ski in Norway with a population of about 13,000. For the most part it was built up after 1980.
Langhus is the name used of the areas Bøleråsen, Vevelstad, Ramstad and Langhus. The village took it's form mostly because of the railroad. Langhus and Vevelstad Station is the nearest stations to Ski Station, which is close to a center between Oslo and Moss. In fact, the distance between Langhus and Vevelstad is the shortest railroad distance in Norway with 650 metres. The economical capital of Langhus is Langhussenteret, with Nille, Meny, The Zoo, a statue, Jafs, Pizza Chef and a minibank. A cafe is the social gatheringpoint of the villagers of Langhus. A gas station is located app. twenty meters north of Langhussenteret. The local church is quite new, and built on higher ground than Langhussenteret. The old high school, Vevelstad, is located near the church, but is now just a dentistsoffice. An old folks home was built in Langhus in 2000, near the lake Fosstjern.
