Langata

Langata is a suburb of Nairobi in Kenya, lying south west of the city centre and east of Karen.

The estate has several attractions such as the Giraffe Centre and a tourist village Bomas of Kenya. Langata also has the famous Carnivore Restaurant and adjoining Carnivore grounds, where many concerts are hosted. Langata also has a gate to the Nairobi National Park.

Langata is also name of the Langata costituency, which covers affluent estates Karen and Langata, but numerically most its voters come from Kibera, the largest slum in Kenya. The MP of Langata is Raila Odinga, a powerful politician in Kenya.

The coined term Karengata is used refer to either Karen or Langata.
