Lanester is a commune in the département of Morbihan and the Bretagne region of France. It is located in the metropolitan Communauté d'agglomération du Pays de Lorient, and is the largest suburb of the city of Lorient, across the Scorff River on its east side. In the 1999 census, Lanester had a population of 21,897.
