Land of Make Believe (song)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Land Of Make Believe was a UK #1 single for Bucks Fizz in January 1982.

Produced by Andy Hill and written by Andy Hill and ex King Crimson member Peter Sinfield it was Bucks Fizz's second of three UK #1 singles, staying at the top for two weeks in January 1982. Despite the apparent sugar-coated style of the song Sinfield has later claimed it was a subtle attack on Margaret Thatcher and her government's policy at the time. The single was later covered by The Allstars in 2001., their version reached UK #9.
