Land Force Central Area
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Land Force Central Area (LFCA) is responsible for all operations and administration of the Canadian Forces' Land Force Command in the province of Ontario, from the Quebec border to the northern Lakehead region.
LFCA is responsible for more than 10,000 soldiers : 5,000 in the regular force and 5,400 in the reserves as well as 900 civilian employees.
LFCA is headquartered at Denison Armoury in Toronto, Ontario near the old CFB Downsview Base. At the time of its creation in the mid-1990s, it was based at the Place Nouveau office tower at Yonge Street north of Finch Avenue; this was controversial as the offices were lavishly renovated, attracting political criticism and attention from the Auditor General of Canada.
