Lamberto Gardelli

Lamberto Gardelli (8 November 1915 – 17 July 1998) was an Italian conductor.
Gardelli was born in Venice. He was considered a specialist in the works of Giuseppe Verdi. He made several recordings of Verdi operas, including Alzira, Attila, Stifellio, I Masnadieri, Ernani, Oberto, Rigoletto, La Forza del Destino and Un Giorno di Regno, as well as Giordano's Fedora (with Magda Olivero). He was also a mentor to several great sopranos including Lucia Aliberti and the Hungarian diva Sylvia Sass, with whom he made a recording of Cherubini's opera Medea.
He died in Munich.
