Lamar County School District

The Lamar County School District is a public school district based in Purvis, Mississippi (USA).
In addition to Purvis, the district also serves the town of Sumrall and the community of West Hattiesburg (Oak Grove) as well as most rural areas in Lamar County.

There were a total of 7,517 students enrolled in the Lamar County School District during the 2005-2006 school year. The gender makeup of the district was 48% female and 52% male. The racial makeup of the district was 18% African American, 79% White, 2% Hispanic, 1% Asian, and less than 1% Native American.[1]
