LaMetta Wynn, (b. 1933) is mayor of Clinton, Iowa. She was first elected in 1995, and her current term expires in 2007. She is the first African-American woman to hold the position of mayor in any Iowa municipality. [1]

Wynn has 10 children and worked for 30 years as a registered nurse. Prior to becoming mayor, Wynn served 12 years on the Clinton School Board.

On January 26, 2006, Wynn announced her candidacy for the Iowa Senate, District 13 as a Republican. [2] The seat is currently held by Democrat, Roger Stewart, who has announced he will seek re-election.
