[edit] The European discoverer of the Lake Abaya.

The Italian explorer Vittorio Bottego (1860-1897) discovered for Europe the lake Abaya. He called it "Lago Regina Margherita" (Queen Margherita was the wife of Umberto I), name in use until WWII.
