Lake Winder is a 1,496 acre lake in Brevard County and a small portion lies in Osceola County. It is the only lake in the St. Johns River basin that doesn't support a marina. The nearest unincorporated settlement is Viera, Florida, 7.3 miles to the east. It's the third largest lake in Brevard County. It is part of the St. Johns River system and governed by the St. Johns River Water Management District. An isolated dirt road, Lake Winder Road, is the only road that leads directly to the lake. Two canals make the way to Lake Winder, but do not cross the county line. About 2 miles to the west is the nearby CR 419, however, there is no access to Lake Winder from Osceola County. Of all the 3 largest lakes in Brevard County, it is the only lake in the county that does not assosiate with viewing a sunset.
