From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lake Washington High School is one of four high schools in the Lake Washington School District, with an enrollment of approximately 1143 students.[1] It is in the Rose Hill neighborhood of Kirkland, Washington. The school building was constructed in 1949 and opened in January, 1950[2] and it was extensively expanded in the 1990's. The alternative 90-student Northstar Junior High is on the same campus, in separate buildings. Lake Washington High School's colors are purple and white and the mascot is the Kangaroo.
Ken Hutcherson's Antioch Bible Church, which has drawn criticism from the teachers' union because of the church's opposition to gay rights, rents space at the high school.[3]
