Lake Washington, FL is a freshwater lake west of Melbourne, Florida. It is one of the lakes that make up the St. Johns River system. Further upstream, the neighboring Lake Winder is only accessible by dirt road. It is the largest lake in Brevard County, and the 41st largest in Florida. It is the single most important source of fresh water for the city and the surrounding areas. The only exit to get to Lake Washington from Interstate 95 is Exit 183, Florida State Road 518. From here, turn left on Brevard County Road 511. Next, make a left on Auora Road, Then, make a left on Lake Washington Road. Finally, keep going to the cul-de-sac of the road.

At the dead end of Lake Washington Road is Lake Washington Park.[1] It is great for boating at the lake and one of the 2 lakes in Brevard County that you can see a beautiful sunset. The other one was 2 lakes upstream, Lake Poinsett. The park contains a playground for children, pavillions for birthday parties, and a Water Treatment Plant outside of the park boundary called John A. Buckley Surface Water Treatment Plant.
