Lake Okareka

Lake Okareka is one of four small lakes lying between Lake Rotorua and Lake Tarawera, in the Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand's North Island. The others are Lake Rotokakahi (Green Lake), Lake Tikitapu (Blue Lake), and Lake Okataina. Renowned for its natural beauty, this lake has an adjacent settlement of approximately 2000 people. The lake is easily accessible from the well-known tourist hotspot of Rotorua as the lake is less than 15 minutes drive from the city centre. lake Okareka is a popular place to go for a mosie and a sift,smooth glassy waters in the early summer mornings of december through march are the pies savoured only by those who live at its edge.
