As a new user, noone expects you to be familiar with all the Wikipedia policies right away. However, Wikipedia:Three-revert rule is one that you need to read and become familiar with early on as violations of it are generally considered very seriously (there is even an express lane for reporting such violations). As you've violated it in the Affirmative action article, I recommend that you correct this problem as soon as you can.-Psychohistorian 12:59, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

Do you have basis and verifiable facts for the orginal articles seen on Sept 10 on David Cunningham's biography? The content is not objective material. When I try to make it objective, it seems to disappear. Can we work something out?Keiko234 02:07, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Chabot Copyright Violation

The article copied on the Anthony Chabot page is in the public domain. It was published in 1883 and the website explicitly says all materials are in the public domain. Is it OK to remove the copyright violation tag? Lagringa 01:37, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm not a copyvio expert but:
  1. http://www.calarchives4u.com/index.htm says "ALL RIGHTS RESERVED" at the bottom.
  2. The article has already been deleted once as a copyvio.
But you might be right that it's in the public domain. Regardless it should be modified to be in encyclopedic tone. You're welcome to do that at Talk:Anthony Chabot/Temp while the copyvio is in limbo. —Wknight94 (talk) 01:56, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the reference; I had no knowledge of this previously.

The article you cited also refers to another Bay Area outrage against Japanese citizens that I did know about, the use of the then Tanforan racetrack as a holding area, where they were kept in horse stalls. Seems the bad karma from this has lingered over the decades; the latest incarnation of the shopping center there isn't doing too well from what I hear. +ILike2BeAnonymous 19:21, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

If, as currently appears to be the case, User:Psychohistorian insists on me starting an RFC on his conduct instead of accepting mediation, will you be willing to join me in that? [edit] Capitalization in dictionary entries?

I noticed you have capitalized the entries on a number of pages. This looks strange to me, as I have never seen a dictionary with capitalized entries. It makes it difficult to distinguish between proper names and ordinary words. You say it's a "general convention" - what does that mean? That's not how it's done in Wikidictionary, for one. You are right. That was a mistake, which some one pointed out to me while I was doing those edits. I had even offerred to re-do the same. [edit] List of English words of Romanian origin

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Firstly, there is no deletion notice on the article, and secondly I've re-added pastrami because the article of the same name states the word is from the language, and Online Etymology Dictionary thinks so too. An unsupported theory (the "definitely not Romanian" one) which contradicts another article in this encyclopaedia is probably not worth going by. -- the GREAT Gavini 15:20, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Acabo de leer la discussion page del artículo referido a la cocina de Argentina y me ha llamado la atención que apareciera la firma Lagringa. En Argentina suele llamarsele "gringa" (con mucho cariño ) a la mujer de origen italiano, es así que muchas argentinas se autodenominan o apodan La Gringa ¿por casualidad tendrás algún origen argentino?.
