THE ASPECTS OF SOCIO-RELIGION DEVELOPMENT IN LAGOS BEFORE 1800

Lagos State came into existence in 1453.The name Lagos was derived from a Portugese term Lagos De Curano. And Lagos became what it is today in 1499.

 The kingdom of Lagos started first as an outpost and resting place of Awori fishermen who hitherto lived on the land opposite it known as Ido Island. As time went on, the former fishing settlement consistently took the picture of a dynamic society.
