You'd never learn from reading this article that a lot of the fun many people find in reading the story comes from following the brazen manipulative shamelessness of Lady Susan's actions, as she almost succeeds in entrapping a man almost ten years younger than herself in marriage while outwardly observing most of the convetions of decorous lady-like behavior of the day...
