Lady Venom

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lady Venom is a hard rock band from Niverville, Manitoba Canada. Originally called Groundswell, Lady Venom underwent a name change due to an existing Classical music group of the same name. Quickly gaining notoriety in the Canadian indie-scene due to live performances and commercial radio play, the group is comprised of three brothers Jordan, Shawn and Evan St. Cyr along with long time friend/bandmate Brady Friesen and newcomer Josh Ayers.

The group met and began to work closely with Steven Kray of Tin Foil Phoenix in late 2005 after a business associate of Kray repeatedly encouraged him to go to the band's rehearsal space and see them play. The performance impressed Kray and the group quickly entered a studio to record their upcoming debut album with Kray performing drums on three of the tracks and producing the album (under his producer pseudonym "KIL"). Josh Ayers would ultimately join the band in mid-production of the album and performed drums on the remaining songs.

After repeated problems with prior management and at the group's request, Kray now manages the band in a full time capacity.

Lady Venom's debut album is set for release in early 2007.
