[edit] History
Ladies Of Death Row Swimsuit Calendar (LODRSC) is a musical group founded in September 2001 by two multi-instrumentalists, Richard Glenn Schmidt of Nexus and Nafa of Midnight Bowlers League. The two musicians were brought together as part of Preston Poe's Audience, and the musical bond was created. The band began as an experimental music project, culling inspiration from guitar loops, various musical instrument oddities, radio bites, and various unusual sources. The music from this time period ranged from grand epics to subtle atmospheric pieces. Surprisingly, all of the recordings were created without the aid of synthesizers. Most songs were comprised of layers of guitars.
LODRSC expanded their musical repertoiré by exploring new musical genres, such as Hula, Rap, Bluegrass, Heavy Metal, Folk, Disco, Rockabilly, and introducing new instruments such as the digeridoo, the double bass, and live drums. The new direction brought minor success with songs like Hawaiian influenced Hula Baby (Aloha) and Run! Jump! Change The Future., a dance flavored ditty about the Apocalypse and Mel Gibson.
On 2003's 3 the duo recruited the assistance of Midnight Bowlers League drummer Mike Fluno. Fluno again joined LODRSC for the Summer Toor 2004 with Candy Bars, as well as the Lazer Tagg, Return On The Mono Level, and McDonough albums.
In 2004 Richard and Nafa formed the side project The Missiles, and then in January 2006 they went on to launch the short-term band The Pride Of Japan Is Tied Up In Giant Robots with Chris Tidroski on drums.
