  • COMMENT this should be on VfD, as you're not proposing this article be renamed wiktionary. 132.205.3.20 15:21, 29 July 2005 (UTC)
  • Oppose and agree with 132.205.3.20 that this is really a proposed deletion. JamesMLane 12:55, 30 July 2005 (UTC)
  • Merge or delete it would be impossible to make a full article out of this that is not just a portion of the vegitarianism article. IreverentReverend 17:27, 1 August 2005 (UTC)
  • KEEP This is a type of vegetarianism, just like veganism, lacto-vegetarianism, fructarian etc, which all have their own entries. You don't delete an entry for plum just because it's briefly described under fruits. Penh 12.52, 4 August 2005 (UTC)
I think you are missing that the entirety of this article would be more acuratly placed under vegitarianism, along witht he other 2 sentence articles you listed, and not just deleted... IreverentReverend 14:16, 15 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Avoiding fertilized eggs

"Among lacto-ovo vegetarians who are motivated by ethical reasons, it is a common practice to avoid fertilized eggs as well as caviar because both involve the killing of beings."

I doubt this. I am this kind of a vegetarian, and I am somewhat motivated by ethical reasons. But eating fertilized eggs would not bother me much. To me, it would not be killing any more than eating bacteria -- life is everywhere! My ethics are concerned with the depredations of agribusiness, the waste of commercial meat production, the lack of respect for animals at the time of slaughter, and particularly the abuse of animals during their commercial "life". None of which applies to fertilized eggs. The ethics get very complex; refer to the main Vegetarianism article. 69.87.203.132 21:56, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Agreed, I made a minor edit to accommodate that. Feel free to make further changes. StuIsCool 04:10, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
