Lacus Juturnae
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lacus Juturnae is a spring or well in the Roman Forum dedicated to the nymph Juturna by Jupiter. It marks the place where the twins Castor and Pollux announced a great military victory(the Battle of Lake Regillus, 495 BCE) for Rome. The water at the Lacus Iuturnae was thought to have healing properties. The elderly and infirm would go to the spring with offerings in order to secure the assistance of Juturna in curing their malady.
