Labyrinthe or Labyrinthe: Live Roleplaying game is based at the Chislehurst Caves (near Sidcup in Kent, UK) Labyrinthe is open every weekend of the year providing adventures in the extensive cave system. Overland adventures are also organised however.
The system grew out of the Treasure Trap system over 20 years ago and has been running continuouisly since then. Founded by Pete Garner then taken on by Jan McManus, then Simon Morgan of Eldrich and most recently by Andy Byatt, Duncan Matthias and Phil Branscombe - known as the Caves Management Team (CMT)
The system, though simple at the outset, develops in complexity past the "8th" level through a system of experience points earned for adventuring. There are a large number of source books for the various playable classes and races available to players.
One of the most important features of Labyrinthe was the decision to allow individual and unique abilities for players' characters. Forms (nicknamed "Yellow Paper" by players) are purchased, upon which the desired ability is written and given into the Game System Manager, who will then pass or fail the request with a cost and points threshold where appropriate.
