[edit] Template for too many red links.
Re [1], you can add {{redlinks}}
to the page, and/or ask for some of the articles to be created at one of the Wikipedia:Requested articles subpages. -- Jeandré, 2006-02-14t07:35z
[edit] template:user fsm
I'm calling out a posse, to fight for freedom of choice, to fight all those who think that only their opinion's right, template:user fsm was speedy deleted by an administrator without any cause or even discussion, I'm therefore putting it up for undeletion since people have put a jihad out against opinions in userboxes. As you were one of many people using the template, I'm trying to rally you into the posse. If you think the template should be returned to active status, put in a vote at Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Userbox_debates#template:user_fsm. Janizary 04:26, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Userbox for Wikiproject Albums
Wikimedia Commons has a number of free use images. Check out [2] for some ideas. All these images have already been uploaded for use on Wikipedia, so there's no need to re-upload them on the main site.
If you plan on creating the userbox by yourself, you can place it here.
Cheers,

[edit] You're welcome
I was glad to remove the litter. And I'm not requesting a barnstar, but you should know that anyone can give them to anyone. It's not an administrator privilege. Joyous | Talk 01:04, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] PLEASE HELP!!
BGC from the pearl jam article keeps changing the Ten sales to 9.4 on the count of only 1 source.Out of desperation I am asking you to help me.Everyone seems to be believing him because of his 1 source ,but when I put 3 sources that said 12 million he called them inaccurate.Knowing that you have been with wikipedia a long time people would trust your word.So could you PLEASE help me? -CAYA(Pearl Jam arcticle)
- Sure thing. I've been seeing this edit war going on for a long time, but I haven't done anything. I'll be glad to help. La Pizza11 19:56, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Hey LaPizza11,
I've tried explaining to all involved repeatedly that the RIAA has Ten certified for 12 million units SHIPPED, but it has sold 9.4 million according to Soundscan, which actually counts the units sold over the counter. An extra 2.6 million units in the stores may seem high, but it's not for an album that continues to sell well as a back catalog item.
Billboard always quotes the Soundscan figures and not the certs in their articles, and those figures are correct. To say an album has "been certified 12 X platinum" sounds better than to say "it has sold 9.4 million copies". Sorry, but facts are facts.
Any article that shows Ten as having "sold" 12 million units is wrong. I'm not disputing the figure. It has shipped 12 million, but not sold it.
All you have to do is read the Billboard article [3] to see it for yourself.
The figure of 9.4 M SOLD is correct. Any further attempts to change it to 12 will be seen as vandalism and I will have to get an admin involved, so that they can validate my claim.
Thanks, BGC 16:26, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pearl Jam
Hello? The entire discography has its OWN PAGE now. That's why I shifted the singles over there. What's your problem? BGC 22:33, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reviews
I couldn't help but notice all the album reviews were written after or during the grunge explosion. It would be interesting to find reviews of Ten that were written before Nirvana broke through, and what the media's opinion on Pearl Jam was before that. If anyone can find such a review, please put a link for it in the review section (and possibly write a small section in the article about the difference). La Pizza11 20:58, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
The allmusic guide review was written 8 months ago, but I'll search for more.SOADLuver 21:01, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:WikiProject Punk music
Whats up? Hi, I'm trying to gather some more interest and support for the Wikipedia:WikiProject Punk music. Please check out the topics and lets get our WikiProject to function better. Recently, I've taken an interest in the Wikipedia:WikiProject hip hop and I consider that WikiProject to be better developed. I am now writing to usernames on the hiphopWP who might be interested in helping with the punkmusicWP. Hopefully we can all work together to improve articles relating to punk as has been done well with hip hop. Finally, I am trying to gather support and opinions concerning the punk house article and specifically the Theta Beta Potata article which is currently in AfD (x2) at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Theta Beta Potata (second nomination). Please check it out and voice your opinion. Xsxex 09:10, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Pearl Jam
1: You're in no position to warn me, not being an admin.
2: You're NOW reacting to an edit done in July - almost 5 months ago? Please don't waste my time leaving nonsense like that on my userpage.
BGC 11:32, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- I restored the warning in question to BGC's talk page. As you've been warned BGC, do not remove legitimate warnings from your talk page, as removing or maliciously altering warnings from your talk page will not remove them from the page history. If you want to "hide" your warnings I suggest you archive your talk page. Legitimate warnings are to be left on your talk page to help other users decide what level of action should be taken if they feel a warning or other action needs to be given. As a side note, you don't have to be an admin to place a warning. Thanks. Yankees76 14:21, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Tad 8waysanta.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:Tad 8waysanta.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] WikiProject Rock music invitation
Hello WikiProject Alternative music member.
WikiProject Alternative music, in my eyes, has proved to be successful "improving the encyclopaedic coverage of articles relating to alternative rock", and improving their quality as well. One specific example I have witnessed is The Smashing Pumpkins article. The page has gone from a mediocre work, to GA status, to FA nomination. Only appropriate, as the Pumpkins are undeniably one of the most influential alternative rock bands on the 1990's and beyond.
This is the stuff I wish to achieve with the somewhat recently ressurected WikiProject Rock music. I hope to also attract attention to rock music articles of all sorts, and hopefully change some to GA or FA status. I invite you to come join us, and not only be a member of alternative Wikipedians, but the rockin' ones as well.
Rock on.
