[edit] La Fayette

"She is the second French vessel" do you mean 2nd after the "Normandie" civilian vessel? Hope not, because when "Normandie" was renamed "Lafayette" by the Americans (New York port, 1942), the vessel was no longer French but requisitioned by the US Navy (who torched it unintentionally and sold it for 2 bucks to an US scrap merchant, thanks!). In this case, this military Fregate is the 1st & only French vessel named Lafayette. JP Belmondo 20:19, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
