La Quiete is a band from Bologna, Italy. They can be described as a Screamo outfit bearing all of the usual trademarks of the genre such as scraping distorted guitar brutality offset by quiet and nearly serene slow picking interludes still layered with screams. Their more recent work features intense buildups with clean, surging, cathartic payoff sections as well as a more melodic focus with the guitars.
La Quiete have much sonically in common with bands like Orchid, Van Johnson and France's Amanda Woodward.
Released splits with such bands as Catena Collapse (Heroine Records/Adagio830), The Apoplexy Twist Orchestra (Heroine Records), and Louise Cyphre (Electric Human Project).
La Quiete features members of the bands Raein and The Death Of Anna Karina
La Quiete release their material almost exclusively on vinyl, this stays true to the early days of the screamo scene and gives the band an element of exclusivity, this also creates an extremely loyal and close knit fanbase. The band are strongly independent and are often celebrated for their D.I.Y punk ethic. They work frequently with European hardcore and screamo distros such as React With Protest which is a D.I.Y distribution company based in Germany. It has also distributed music for Louise Cyphre, Am I Dead Yet, A Fine Boat That Coffin and bandmates Raein. As well as this the band will accept postal orders via direct contact through the medium of email.
