La Douleur Exquise! is the twelfth episode of the second season of the HBO television series Sex and the City. It originally aried on August 22, 1999.

“ Excuse me, but when did wild sex come back in style? ”

Carrie is horrified when Big casually tells her he's moving to Paris for six months. Miranda dates a man who only wants to have sex in places they might get caught. Charlotte meets Buster, a shoe salesman who has a shoe fetish. Samantha introduces the girls to a hot new S&M restaurant.

Buster allowed Charlotte York to have expensive shoes for free simply for allowing him to assist her in trying on various pairs of shoes. The relationship came to an end when Charlotte was discomforted by Buster's obvious climax while assisting her with the sixth pair of the day.
