L'Aiglon

L'Aiglon was the nickname of Napoleon's son, Napoleon II of France. The name is French for "eaglet" (a young eagle).

It is also the name of a play, L'Aiglon, by Edmond Rostand about Napoleon II's life. Based on Rostand's play, Arthur Honegger and Jacques Ibert composed an opera in five acts, also with the title L'Aiglon, to a libretto by Henri Cain; this opera was first presented at Opéra de Monte-Carlo in 1937.
