Lünen Power Station

Lünen Power Station is a German hard coal power station. It lies with Luenen in the district Unna. It has an output of 500 megawatts. At the location Luenen was established for the first time 1938 a power station. The power station Luenen produces traction current since 1984 also. Since at the end of 2003 is produced in the power station also long-distance heating. Annual hard coal consumption amounts to 960,000 tons. The operator of the power station is the Steag. The fire-place power station of the Luenen is 250 meters high.
