Talk:Lúthien

[edit] Morning and Evenstar
I got a bit confused over this point where it said Lúthien was considered the Morningstar of the Elves. Wasn't Galadriel also titled in such a way? I have a faint memory that when Gimli and the Fellowship was in Minas Tirith, he and I think some lord, were discussing whether Galadriel or Arwen was the fairest. Gimli then said as his final words (roughly anyway): "You have chosen the evening, but my heart prefers the Morning. A Morning I fear soon shall pass" (roughly translated).
[edit] Lúthien and Arwen Evenstar
"It is mirrored by the later romance between Aragorn and Arwen Evenstar". Arwen is half-elven, Lúthien is pure elven. That's not exactly the same. Moreover, Aragorn is descended from Elros, who is originally half-elven until he chose to be mankind, so Aragorn has at least a bit of elven qualities within him. - They didn't mean it like that, more like that Aragorns and Arwens fates were similiar to that of Beren and Lúthien (two elves who both chose a mortal life for two Men they loved).--- Hackeru
