LÉ Ciara (P42) is a ship in the Irish Naval Service. The ship is named after Ciara, a daughter of a wealthy Christian family who settled near Nenagh, Co Tipperary in the 7th century. The ship was originally built for the Royal Navy as HMS Swallow for service in Hong Kong. It is the fastest ship in the Irish fleet.
