KZOK-FM is a commercial radio station located in Seattle, Washington, broadcasting on 102.5 FM. KZOK-FM airs a classic rock music format.
[edit] History
KZOK signed on in 1964 as KTW-FM and whose formats included top 40 (1965-1971), religious (1971-1974), progressive rock (1974-1976; 1974 was when they picked up the KZOK calls) and AOR (1976-1986), flipped formats to its current incarnation in July 1987. They are one of two classic rock/hits outlets targeting the Puget Sound region, KJR-FM is the other one. To some classic rock is a troublesome term because it encompasses a wide range of pop, folk and what is now considered true classic rock by many under the age of 50. Elton John, The Beatles and CSNY gets spins alongside more rockin' Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top and AC/DC. It may please a wider audience but some may prefer a narrower definition of classic rock and playlist.
[edit] Personalities
KZOK is currently the home of top rated morning host Bob Rivers, who is well known for his series of music parodies of current hits and topical and slice of life humor and insight.
