Kyungsung University is a university established by the Busan Metropolitan Government. It is situated in the district of Nam-gu, southwest of the famous Haeundae beach. The campus is located near Kyungsung University-Pukyong University Station on Line 2.

Starting from 2002, the university has held a regional conference between South Korea and China about Sustainable development of the Northeast Asia region.

The Kyungsung University Museum has been involved in the excavation of important regional archaeological sites. In the 1990s the university museum was responsible for excavating the Daeseong-dong site, a protohistoric cemetery Gimhae with high-status burials from the Proto-Three Kingdoms Period.

The Korean pronunciation of the university is exactly the same as the previous Keijo Imperial University, which became Seoul National University after Korea became independent in 1948. The Hanja, or Chinese character, renditions of the two names are, however, different, Keijo Imperial University having been rendered in Hanja as 京城大學校. The two universities do not have any relationship.
