[edit] Florin Lupu
Dear John,
If you judged me by my past contributions, I guess I had something constructive to add to the articles. However, it is the every Wikipedian's right to question the relevance of an article. And it seems your articles Foundation for Development through Economic Education and Partnership and Florin Lupu are in violation of the following guidelines: Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) and Wikipedia:Notability (people) since there are no secondary sources to refer to the subjects covered there. I may be wrong; that's why it is good to hear what other people have to say. Do not take it personally, I wasn't questioning you but the articles you wrote. Marking an article as advertisement is not a snide or negative comment addressed to you.
I'll revert your deletions and let see what other Wikipedians think about the articles in question.

while I am unclear whether or not this article or subject fully met the criteria for submission (since there are external references), I have elected to withdraw the two articles. The reference titles can be deleted. --JohnGongwer 14:05, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- Those articles you mentioned are blatant examples of spam. Anyways, even if Foundation for Development through Economic Education and Partnership didn't fall under this category, it certainly would under Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. I don't deny the Foundation didn't do good or didn't support the development of the Jiu Valley. The article about the Foundation not the Foundation itself is in question here, and Wikipedia is NOT a soapbox. Regards, Mentatus 15:36, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- PS The {{db-spam}} templates shouldn't be deleted, I'll put them back on.
I have read the policy guidelines and do not see how these articles violate any of these three criteria:
1) "Propaganda or advocacy of any kind. Of course, an article can report objectively about such things, as long as an attempt is made to approach a neutral point of view." The articles were not advocating any position or issue.
2) "Self-promotion. It can be tempting to write about yourself or projects you have a strong personal involvement in. However, do remember that the standards for encyclopedic articles apply to such pages just like any other, including the requirement to maintain a neutral point of view, which is difficult when writing about yourself." While it is true that I was related with both the individual and the organization, neither exists any longer nor were there references to me. Nearly ever article on non-profits in Wikipedia were no doubt written by those organizations, along with subsequent modifications. Having an article on a foundation that played a strong role in economic development (particularly since it no longer exists) hardly qualifies as self-promotion. I have requested and am awaiting clarification from other Wikipedia editors, since I believe your marking these articles for deletion is unwarranted.
3) "Advertising. Articles about companies and products are acceptable if they are written in an objective and unbiased style." I offered only the objective facts of what the organization did, and revised the subjective references when you raised the question.
If you had questions about the wording, I would understand, and am more than happy to do the proper edits, since I am brand new to Wikipedia. But marking them for deletion I feel was inappropriate.
It will be interesting to now look at your article entries to see how consistent you are.

- Well, it's simple: a non-profit organization must be notable, and I quote:
- In order to have an attributable article, a topic should be notable enough that the information about it will have been researched, checked, and evaluated through publication in independent reliable sources.
- In order to have a neutral article, a topic should be notable enough that the information about it will be from unbiased and unaffiliated sources; and that those interested in the article will not be exclusively partisan or fanatic editors.
- Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate directory of businesses, websites, persons, etc. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia.
- If you think that your article fulfills the above criteria, you're welcome to re-add it. Mentatus 21:07, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Jiu Valley
Would you please answer my questions on the Jiu Valley talk page? Thanks. Mentatus 21:17, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Need Help
Well, you might try reading Wikipedia:Your first article#Things to avoid. You need to make sure that what you're writing about is notable enough to warrant an article of its own. "Florin Lupu" for example gets only 333 Google hits, which is considerably low (although Google hits do not necessarily begat notability). Secondly, what you're writing about needs to have reliable sources, you can't just include the subject's website, you should include secondary sources proving that such a person exists as well. If you would like further clarification, you can leave a comment at the help desk and/or the village pump. Also, Clarkstown Summer Theatre Festival and Use.ro are currently up for deletion (and I agree 100% that they should be deleted). Regards, Khoikhoi 01:35, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
