Kyoto Broadcasting System Company.ltd (株式会社京都放送 Kabushiki-gaisha Kyōto Hōsō?, KBS) is a commercial broadcasting station headquartered in Kyoto, Japan. It is also known as "KBS Kyoto" (KBS京都?) as a television and radio station in Kyoto Prefecture, and "KBS Shiga" (KBS滋賀?) as a radio station in Shiga Prefecture. It is a network radio station of National Radio Network (NRN) and a local TV station. The radio broadcasting area of the station is in Kyoto Prefecture and Shiga Prefecture, and the TV broadcasting area is Kyoto Prefecture. Since April 1, 2005, KBS has started digital television broadcasting on ISDB format.

  • Originally, Kyoto Broadcasting was called Kinki Broadcasting (近畿放送, It was called Radio Kyoto (KHK, ラジオ京都) before that). However, the abbreviation of KBS continues use as it is.

  • It was rolled in Itoman fraud case for a certain period of time in 1990's.
