Kyo no Gononi is the first manga series created by Coharu Sakuraba. The manga series is short, consisting of only 23 eight to ten page chapters and collected together in a single tankoban. The manga was also developed into an OVA series. The OVAs are in a format similar to Azumanga Daioh, in that they consist of five mini-episodes based off of chapters from the manga. The OVAs that contain a special audio track in which the female characters' voices are replaced by members of the idol unit Sweet Kiss. There are also 'Special Edit' versions of the OVAs.

- Chika Koizumi (小泉チカ Koizumi Chika?)
- Childhood friend of Ryota who also likes him romantically. Voiced by: Mai Kadowaki (normal); Saaya Irie (Sweet Kiss)
- Yuki Asano (浅野ユウキ Asano Yūki?)
- Talkative and active. Worries about the size of her breasts. Voiced by: Mikako Takahashi (normal); Jessica (Sweet Kiss)
- Kazumi Aihara (相原カズミ Aihara Kazumi?)
- Quiet, mysterious, and has quick reflexes. Voiced by: Mamiko Noto (normal); Runa (Sweet Kiss)

- A tomboy who is into sports. Voiced by: Maria Yamamoto

- Wears glasses and worries about her weight. Voiced by: Kana Ueda

- Kazumi has a loose baby tooth and uses Ryota to help pull it out. 1st Period in 1st OVA.

- Ryota claims that guys care about collarbones and not breasts. 2nd Period in 1st OVA.

- Ryota and Natsumi get locked in the P.E. supply closet. 3rd Period in 1st OVA.

- The boys forget their umbrellas and have to share some with the girls.

- A three legged race is held.
- 21st Period - "Pinky Promise Part 1"
- Ryota is reminded of a pinky promise he and Chika had when they were little to get married when they grew up.
- 22nd Period - "Pinky Promise Part 2"
- Ryota has to correct a misunderstanding about what he promised Chika.

- Yuki and upperclassman Matsunaga discuss how tennis is a strange sport. Appears as an omake in the tankoban.
