[edit] Talk page blanking

Kylehamilton, it is considered bad form to blank to contents of your Talk page. The contents should be left intact so that other users may see any issues being discussed. This prevents them from having to cover the issue again or seeing any resolutions that have been reached. When a Talk page gets too long, it can be archived, but it shoud never be deleted permanently. This doesn't apply to vandalism, of course. Peace. JHMM13 (T | C) 06:31, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

(copied from my talk page)
I just figuard I should keep the page clean so it would be easyer for people to contact me, I didnt think about a probelm comeing back up thank you for the information --Kylehamilton 06:34, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
Not a problem, just giving you a heads up. If you'll notice, I made the same mistake early on, but I was more hot-headed about it. JHMM13 (T | C) 06:35, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
If you haven't already discovered it on your own- you can archive your talk page, which lets you clear finished conversations out of the active talk space while still keeping them for future reference. Check out my talk page for an example, if you like. -FisherQueen (Talk) 22:52, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kyle Hamilton (skateboarder)

I have placed a tag on the article Kyle Hamilton (skateboarder), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. I did this because the article seems to be a biographical account about a person, group of people, or band, but it does not indicate how or why he/she/they is/are notable. If you can indicate why Kyle Hamilton (skateboarder) is really notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Kyle Hamilton (skateboarder). Any admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. You might also want to read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. JHMM13 (T | C) 06:33, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you for your answers

I really appreciate your taking the time to answer my questions so carefully.

Please let me just make one suggestion: Do you have an editor with a spell checker that you can select all/copy/switch to editor/select all/paste/edit/select all/copy/switch to browser/paste with? You misspelled "Strong" by omitting the "g". The substance of your answers was great, though.

The only other thing is that the proposed Code of Conduct has some ambiguity in it. The part with the three Latin terms is followed by a section which I think means "the three sections above are to be ignored" so I guess that's a choice that the most careful candidates might want to mention which of the three Latin-termed sections they do or do not agree with. Please let me know if that doesn't make sense; if it does, and you feel like elaborating in that direction, you have my permission to edit your answers directly on my talk page.

Thanks again for your careful decision-making. If elected, it will serve you well. —James S. 01:42, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Oxnard Airport edits

I see you made edits to Oxnard_Airport on July 2 2006. Some of the addition you ripped from [1], violating copyright. You also made a comment about the airport having a cat named Mindie. Can you explain where you got that information? Thanks, Doctormatt 18:45, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

The county has a copyright notice right at the bottom of the page. Note this:"Also, most state and local governments in the United States do not place their work into the public domain" from Wikipedia:Copyrights. So I continute to believe your copying of the content does indeed represent a violation of copyright. Cheers, Doctormatt 05:54, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome!

Hi, Kylehamilton, welcome to WikiProject LGBT Studies!

We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles of interest to the LGBT community. Some points that may be helpful:

  • Our main aim is to help improve LGBT-related articles, so if someone asks for help with an article, please try your hardest to help them if you are able.
  • Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
  • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as article quality assessment, and a project-wide article collaboration, both of which you are welcome to take part in. We also have a unique program to improve our lower quality articles, Jumpaclass, so please consider signing up there.
  • If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign LGBT topics.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again - Welcome!
